Simona Supino is a Polish documentary photographer based in Warsaw. Born in 1992, she graduated from the Photography at the Warsaw School of Photography and the History of Art at the Warsaw University. She started her professional career in 2013 for Super Express daily newspaper, where she had the opportunity to develop her skills as a photojournalist.
She currently works as a freelancer dividing her work between assigments for press and NGOs, and working on her long term projects. She is the winner and the finalist of many nationals and internationals competition including Magnum 30 under 30, East Street, Grand Press Photo and BZWBK photo, FVGF fotografia 2023 (CRAF). In 2023 in 2023 she participated in the New Yourk Portfolio Review.
Since February 2014 she has been covering the ongoing conflict begun on Maidan and explored to the eastern Ukraine. She spent there several months observing political and social changes and also exploring the culture of this Country.
Currently,she is focusing on documentation of the widely understood refugee crisis in Poland and the humanitarian situation in Ukraine. (for NGOs : Action Aid, World of Concern, Caritas, Iron Wheels). Her photographs have been published in the biggest world and Polish and newspaper and magazines: Le Monde, Liberation, Der Spiegel, Amnesty International, Le Devouir, Neewsweek, Press, Polityka, Wprost, Gazeta Wyborcza, Duzy Format, Kontynenty.
She speaks English, Italian, Polish, Russian, and basic Ukrainian.
